Happy Birthday Jesus

Christmas is the time for many holiday parties and what better way to celebrate the birth of a beautiful little boy born on Christmas in a Stable than with a Happy Birthday Jesus Party.

Christmas is about love because God is love. Christmas is something that we should carry in our hearts all year long because it’s not something you will find wrapped under your tree or in a stocking it’s in your heart.

Christmas is a magical time it brings amazing memories from my own childhood it’s always been my favorite holiday to celebrate because it means something so incredibly special. It’s about the birth of a child who grew up to be a man that sacrificed his life in a very big way, who shed his own blood for us so that our sins our transgressions would be forgiven. We are created in his image and his Son was sent to us so we could get to know him and have that personal relationship with him.

A birthday party for Jesus is not only a fun way to get your children involved this holiday season it’s a great way to teach them that he truly is the reason for this blessed season. Teaching them that the true “Joy of Christmas” is by giving.

The children were greeted at the door with a beautiful “Happy Birthday Jesus” door sign done by the fabulous Michelles Party Plan It

I chose to use the colors Gold and Silver so I set our dining room table with antique gold dishes and glassware which was found at a beautiful antique store in Hinsdale, IL. Got out the gold silverware, added my late Grandmothers sterling silver milk and sugar sets and a lovely crystal cross. The Children enjoyed sitting at our dining room table as it made them feel so grown up.

The centerpiece is an antique white ceramic Christmas tree candle holder which holds special meaning for me as I was with my Mom the day she bought it at a Christmas Luncheon when I was 8 years old and is now something she is giving me to enjoy each holiday season. I found the perfect gold, white and pop of silver wreath to adorn the bottom of it.

Hoopla Events candy dishes are perfect for any party we especially love ours that say, Jesus and we filled them with goldfish much to the enjoyment of the kids. Loved how one of them pointed out how Jesus said “I will make you Fishers of Men”.

The Dessert table in my formal living room had all their favorites, Heavenly Cupcakes, Little Drummer Boy Cake Pops, Nestles Quik strawberry and chocolate milk. I decorated the dessert table with gold and silver Christmas tree gift boxes and two gold Christmas trees, but my favorite decoration is the sign made by Sawyer Leigh Boutique “Love Was Born in a Stable” that I will cherish every holiday because it means so much to me.

I was honored to have Jo Keller my Pastor’s Mother come and not just share the story of the Christ Child but read to the kids as well. The kids favorite was the reading of “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” and the fun little game that went with it.Not one of the kids moved as they were so involved in the story. My coffee table is where I have my Nativity and one of my favorite scripture verses is John 3:16 and FMDFunkyMonkeyDesigns did a beautiful job taking the verse and fitting it in perfectly with my vision and theme.

No birthday party would be complete without cake and of course, we had to put candles in it as it just would not be a birthday cake without a few candles. Listening to children sing Happy Birthday to Jesus and blowing out the candles was a very precious moment. We had to do it twice because one of the little girls kind of got lost in the shuffle so she was happy to sing again and get to blow out some candles by herself. She was so adorable.

The children loved the sparkle and glitter of the cake topper made by Pink Poppy Party Shoppe I mean who does not love glitter right!!

The kids had fun outside in front of our Lanai Christmas tree holding up the Happy Birthday Jesus Banner made by Lillypaul Designs and an O’ holy night banner from FMDFunkyMonkeyDesigns It was such a beautiful day and before leaving they were given each given a little Christmas favor of Blessings Soap, Blessings Ceramic Cross Dish, Silver Picture Frame and Silver Cross Favors by Kate Aspen

The sweet innocence of the children, for they are each a Gift from God and as parents we are their greatest blessing. They enrich our lives in ways one can’t even begin to describe. They show me why we celebrate, why our faith is so important and how to Believe because after all, Christmas is not about Santa and presents yes it’s magical and wonderous but that is because it’s about Jesus for “HE IS THE GIFT”

From my family to yours we wish you a very Merry and Blessed Christmas, and a New Year of Hope, Good Health and most of all Peace. However, you celebrate and to whomever you worship may you always be surrounded in LOVE.
